New Volvo Trucks Delivered to Hewicks Haulage

Hewicks Haulage, a British company that provides general traction services together with its main co-managed tanker fleet, Cave Liquid Haulage, has taken delivery of its first three Volvo FH13 6x2 tractor units.

“Our business spans a range of hygiene-critical and environmentally sensitive operating requirements – co-products from the food chain and brewing – and the scheduled processing and delivery of specialist and formulated feeds to farm gate bulk silos at livestock units nationwide,” said Owner Managing Director, Chris Hewick.

The shiny new examples of Volvo tractor units have been earmarked to become additions to the current East Anglia-based fleet. They will support the company’s expanding food and brewing sector co-products and bulk feeds business across the country. The FH13s will also play a key role in managing the growing port traffic activity.

“We have a background in-depth experience with both animals and transport – so we fully understand the importance of strictly controlled hygiene, environmental and wastes management procedures.  It is important for us and our customers therefore, that we also operate with premium ‘green’ and efficient vehicles that are at the top of their game,” Hewick added.

All Volvo FH13 third axle tag units come equipped with the latest generation of 12.8-liter D13C500 straight-six engine with turbo-intercooling. Two of the units delivered use Volvo’s new I-Shift automatic change gearbox, while the third comes with a more conventional manual. However, all have the spacious range-topping Globetrotter XL sleeper cab. All were delivered through the Ely, Cambridgeshire depot of Volvo Truck and Bus East Anglia.
