The seventh generation Volkswagen Golf is already a talented car. It's been well received across Europe since its launch last year and has been named both World and European Car of the Year for 2013.
It's also one of the safest cars ever made. During recent Euro NCAP testing, the Golf earned 94% for adult occupant protection. The left-hand-drive European model with 1.2 petrol engine was tested by Euro NCAP. ANCAP was provided with information which showed that the Euro NCAP results apply to Australasian petrol variants.
Being such a good all-round car, the Golf should have no problem adapting to the Australian market, where it's going to make its debut soon. The Australian safety body ANCAP has already thus decided it to be worthy of a five-star rating.
The Golf VII scored an impressive 35.92 points out of possible 37, which makes it one of the safest cars tested. Full pricing and tech specs should be available later this week.
