New Volkswagen Beetle Tested by Sexy Anastasia Tregubova

There is more than one editor around the office who claims to be the resident Russian women expert. And while our opinions might be varied on what's the best hair color or dress size, we all agree on what they like to drive.

Beautiful Muscovites have a little chip on their shoulder. They don't like the puny, cute cars we think they do and prefer SUVs with big engines, like the BMW X5 or the Range Rover Sport.

However, the charm of a Volkswagen Beetle is not lost in the crowd, and the beautiful Russian female test driver Anastasia Tregubova took a 2014 model for a spin. Her review has plenty of information about the model's history, practicality and performance. But the really interesting bit is the second part of the video, where the car is tested to the extreme of its performance. It's worth watching even if you don't know a single drop of Russian.

In Russia, prices for the Beetle start at a very reasonable €17,375 for the base 1.2-liter TSI with 110 PS and a six-speed manual gearbox. However, a well-specced car with a 2-liter TSI can run to €30,000. It doesn't really have a direct rival, but if you ignore the fact that it's a compact and just look at the lifestyle choice, the MINI hatch range becomes the Bug's main opposition.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
