Volkswagen Group Malaysia has announced they've added a third TSI engine to the range offered with the new Beetle coupe. Sitting between the existing base 1.2 TSI and the 2.0 TSI is a 1.4 TSI four-cylinder mill, offering 160 PS at 5,800rpm and 240 Nm of torque.
Your only gearbox choice is a seven-speed DSG transmission, which allows the Beetle to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 207 km/h.
The bad new is that if you really want a Beetle 1.4 TSI, you've got to want it bad, because it starts at RM 180,000, equivalent to $58,500 or €45,000. Standard kit includes 17-inch Spin ally wheels shod in 215/55 tires, Vienna leather seats and the RCD510 touchscreen radio CD player with eight speakers.
