The new BMW 3-Series Touring (F31) is here, boasting the F30 sedan's top-notch interior with an extra dash of practicality! Design-wise, the new 3-Series Touring continues BMW tradition of the Touring, looking very similar to the four-door version.
The engine line-up is expected to be carried over from the sedan, with European buyers being able to choose from BMW's 2- and 3-liter diesel and petrol engines with turbocharging. US powertrain details have yet to be announced, but we're expecting the car to get BMW's four and six-cylinder petrol engines, mated to either a six-speed manual or an eigh-speed automatic gearbox.

The touring also gets a split-folding rear seat arrangement and a powered tailgate on top-of-the-range models. BMW's new 'lines' (Sport, Luxury, Modern and M Sport) will also be available on the Touring, with each line altering the car for different tastes and purposes.

We expect the car to carry a premium of around €1600 ($2000) over the sedan. While its conservative styling and extremely expensive optional extras, the new BMW 3-Series Touring may not be to everybody's liking, but there's no denying that it's a capable and distinctive way to carry people and, with the Touring, more luggage at the same time.
