New Trike Kit for Harley-Davidson

Current Harley-Davidson trike conversion kits were getting outdated, so this new product comes like a breath of fresh air. California Sidecar recently released the Volusia Trike Conversion kit for Harley-Davidson Softails. Tough it may sound a bit weird considering that it was designed for Harley-Davidson, the Volusia kit is a sporty trike, inspired by Formula One Racecar technology.

Until now, all new kits were in fact old concepts redesigned to fit various Harley motorcycles. However, the Volusia was specially designed for Softails.

The kit has a low center of gravity, stiff chassis and proven CSC Independent Suspension, while the designed follows the classic lines of the Softail.

Standard on the Volusia is an independent suspension with vertically stabilized opposing Rocker Mono Shocks that give riders both the stability of a trike and the handling of a two-wheeler.

Twin reduction jackshaft belt drive with a 90 mm Gates performance belt kit and gas carburized sprockets also come as standard, as well as disc brakes featuring Varga calipers with an 11.5-inch purpose-designed rotor.

Of course, optional upgrades are possible, and include a performance brake package, fully adjustable shocks with a handlebar-mounted switch that allows for suspension adjustments "on-the-fly," and an electric belt-driven reverse.

The Volusia Trike conversion kit fits all 2000 through 2009 Softail models (except for Springer models), and is available only through factory trained authorized dealers. Unfortunately, no pricing was announced yet, but we will keep you posted.

The California Sidecar Company also manufactures sidecars and trailers. The company has authorized dealers across the US and Canada where the trike conversions can be made. For Harley-Davidson motorcycles, the company also offers the FL Series Daytona trike conversion kit.
