The Malaysian market looks to be more interested in how reliable and durable a new car is, rather than how luxurious it is or how technology features it has onboard.
And the new Toyota Vios appears to be one of their most popular car, offering both reliability and attractive looks compared to its main rivals there.

Since it was introduced in October 2013, the Vios accumulated around 20,000 bookings, despite the fact it still comes with the same 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine mated either to a manual or automatic transmission.

“We expect the excellent response to continue throughout the year as the  Vios has always been the preferred choice for Malaysians,” said President of UMW Toyota Motor Datuk Ismet Suki. “Since its first introduction more than ten years ago, it has become the best-selling car in the non-national small PC segment.” he added.

As of December 2013, Toyota managed to sale around 280,000 Vios sedans in Malaysia and the automaker is now encouraging customers to place their orders and make use of the promotions that are currently available.
