Suzuki has revealed a new concept called GSX but refrained from providing any relevant information as to what it stands for. The modeled bike embeds elements from the GSX-R1000 and the GSX-1300R Hayabusa, but technically leaves us in total darkness.
On one hand, Suzuki is rumored to come up with something new at the upcoming home show in Tokyo this month, especially as a solid update is long overdue for its sport bike range. Still, in the absence of any credible rumors, let alone insights from Hamamatsu's kitchen, it's down to speculations regarding the future of the line-up.
The realistic fellows believe that this concept sets the guidelines for a new generation of Suzuki GSX machines Hamamatsu might unveil as early as Q2 or Q3 2016, destined to make it to the dealerships floors as an all-new 2017 model year.
Frankly, we are in a way surprised seeing that Suzuki can still push bikes that haven't received a solid update for such a long time. They might be good, but the competition has not been idling all these years, and stagnation equals death in the industry.
Only a few of these guys dare to look at the hubless wheels of the GSX Concept and hope they have anything to do with what Suzuki might show shortly.
We here believe that those wheels are just for showing off, and we'd rather consider the GSX Concept as a small hint for the design language Suzuki will maybe use for the new Gixxers. As for this fall, seeing the turbocharged Recursion finally making it into production and Suzuki confirming new GSX machines would do just fine.
