The British division of Subaru announced today the introduction of a new entry-level Subaru model in the Legacy Tourer range. Dubbed ES Nav, the variant is priced at £21,995 and comes with a 150PS 2.0 litre petrol engine and the choice of a six-speed manual gearbox or Subaru’s optional Lineartronic CVT transmission.
The unit produces 196 Nm (145 lb.ft.) of torque. The six-speed manual Legacy ES takes 9.8 seconds to 62 mph (100 km/h), while the maximum speed is 120 mph (193 km/h). It returns 32.8mpg (8.6 l/100km) on a combined cycle and produces 199g/km CO2.
On the other hand, the CVT model has a 0-62mph (0-100 km/h) time of 11.3 seconds and a maximum speed of 120 mph (193 km/h). It produces 187g/km of CO2 and has a combined fuel consumption cycle of 34.9mpg (8.1 l/100km).
“As with all Subarus, the Legacy’s permanent Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system and horizontally opposed Boxer engine with its light weight and low centre of gravity ensures a unique and special blend of driving engagement, durability, comfort and safety,” a company statement reads.
On the standard features list we find a full colour satellite navigation system that boasts touch screen control, CD/DVD playback, integrated Bluetooth hands-free connectivity and steering wheel mounted controls.
Also included are automatic headlights and windscreen wipers, remote control central locking, dual zone climate control, one-touch fold down rear seats, alloy wheels, electrically adjusted driver’s seat and a Thatcham category 1 alarm and immobiliser.
“It also has a completely re-engineered all-steel unitary structure that delivers the highest crash safety performance and was recently awarded a 5-Star Euro NCAP crash safety rating,” Subaru brags.
