According to Automotive News, both the WRX and the STI will be turned into standalone models, no longer being hot Impreza models. The strategy has deep implications, as the vehicles are set to receive their custom platform when they come to he marker in 2013.

Subaru of America senior VP of Sales told the aforementioned source that this will allows the two cars to leave their traditional drawbacks - the lack of a premium interior and other features- behind and become complete performance cars.

As for their tech side, he confirmed an earlier report that indicated the STI will deliver over 300 hp.
