With LED headlights and keen looks designed by Lamborghini people, the new SEAT Leon is pretty much sorted when it leaves the factory. Still, while it doesn't need spoilers and wings, a bit more power can't hurt at all.
This next clip shows the work of a Czech tuning company called DP-Race, who's taken a liking to VWs, Audis, Skodas and especially SEATs. Their current target is a brand new Leon FR 5-door with a 1.8-liter TSI engine. Now that mill is Audi's finest work, both efficient and powerful. It's also the second most powerful engine available on the FR model.
From 180 hp and 250 Nm, the 1.8 turbo has been tuned to 234 PS and 359 Nm. Now, this power increase hasn't happened by way of magic, but thanks to an MTM Cantronic valve lift control unit and a sports exhaust from Bastuck.
This SEAT Leon now has a bit more power than a Golf 7 GTI, which is no small thing. Powerful 1.8-liter turbos are not as common as they used to be. As die-hard Audi fans, we still attest, when the first TT came out, it had a powerful 1.8 TFSI that would rage all the way to 240 horsepower as it did battle with the Mazda RX-8's Wankel. Where is that 1.8 when you need it?
