Steve Saleen has confirmed that the company’s new supercar is already in the works and will be unveiled “within the next two years”.
Speaking to Motor Trend at the Pebble Beach, Steve Saleen unveiled that the new Corona-built supercar will be a significantly updated version of the S5S Raptor concept that was showcased at the 2008 New York Auto Show.
No other details have been released, but we do know that the S5S Raptor was powered by a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine that churned 650 HP and 630 lb-ft of torque. And we do expect the new Saleen supercar to deliver at least the same amount of horses to the rear wheels.
Back in June, Saleen Autosport also announced plans to develop a high-performance electric vehicle, but additional info has yet to surface.
In other Saleen related news, the Mustang specialist has introduced the 2014 George Follmer Edition Mustang at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion earlier this month.
