New S-Class Gets Humongous and Odd Range of Accessories

There is no single model in the Mercedes-Benz line-up that is more important and more distinctive for the Swabian brand than the S-Class, affectionately and historically known as the “sonderklasse” - the special class.

The car is so special for the Stuttgart brand that the newest generation of the car, launched just two months ago and not yet available in all the tri-star dealerships around the world, is still on the “release press kits about everything related to this model every week” bandwagon.

This week is the Genuine Accessories and Mercedes-Benz Collection's turn to become available for the customers awaiting delivery of their new W222 S-Class.

Probably the most awaited products which will be available for the car are a couple of dozen of 17 to 20-inch light-alloy wheels which will be specific for the S-Class, with most of the larger ones sporting the AMG logo. A wide range of charging cradles and docking stations for the best sold smartphones currently found in any tech geek's pocket are also available for ordering, including one for the iPhone 5.

With the addition of (standard in most countries) Command Online system on the new S-Class, Mercedes has also released a number of specific apps such as the always useful car park search feature. Like the probably almost as useful Morningstar Finance and all the other Mercedes apps already available, the new ones can be downloaded from the Mercedes-Benz App Shop at shop.mercedes-benz.de .

We haven't heard of many S-Class owners that are regulars on off-road mountain bike trails, but Mercedes has thought of these potential customers as well. A new collapsible rear-mounted cycle rack for the trailer coupling is now available, as well as a roof-mounted cycle rack peculiarly developed specially for the self-driving-on-highway S-Class.

Last but not least, you guys are probably already aware of the new interior fragrancing system, otherwise known as “new car smell is a thing of the past”, which can be individually activated and its intensity adjusted. Four interior fragrances developed with apparently renowned perfume specialist Mark vom Ende are now available for the system.
