The following footage was captured this past weekend by the Nurburgring fanatics from Touriclips and it depicts a semi-camouflaged Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG W22 still doing hard laps of the Green Hell with a test driver at the wheel.
As usual with these types of videos, we find it more than peculiar that the Germans are still testing a model that's been launched for quite a while, with the first media test drives taking place almost two weeks ago in Austria and Germany.
Since even the right hand drive countries such as Great Britain and Australia already have the model in showrooms, the only country where the S 63 AMG hasn't been launched yet is China, where the “regular” S-Class W222 was just released this weekend.
It's just a speculation, but considering the test model is left hand drive, Mercedes-Benz might be honing it for the Chinese customers, since the non-AMG S-Class W222 made for the Middle Kingdom also underwent a specific type of testing for that market.
