New Renault Megane Estate Details and Photos

French manufacturer Renault today announced that the latest Megane Estate, officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March, is projected to go on sale in France on June 11, with orders set to begin on April 20. The whole lineup will rely on five equipment levels, similar to other models sold by Renault - Authentique, Expression, Carminat TomTom, Dynamique and Privilege - and on 11 different engines - three petrol and eight diesel.

There will be 13 body colors available, including non-metallic (Glacier White, Roy Blue and Vif Red) and metallic (Cendre beige, Crepuscule Blue, Olivette Green, Dyna Red and a few others).

Prices are mainly the same as for the predecessor, with the Authentique version powered by a 1.6-liter 16V 110 Ethanol engine to be sold for 19,200 euros. The top version will be the Privilege powered by a dCI 150 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that will be offered for 29,200 euros.

In terms of standard equipment, the Authentique trim comes with ABS, six airbags (two adaptive front airbags for driver and front passenger, two lateral thorax/abdomen/groin airbags for driver and front passenger and two front/rear head-protection curtain airbags), cruise control with speed limiter, heigh-adjustable drive seat, manual climate control, ISOFIX and double-optic headlamps.

The Privilege incorporates almost all available features, such as central rear armrest incorporating lidded storage, retro-lit vanity mirrors, electrochrome interior rearview mirror, combined leather/cloth upholstery, reading lights for rear seats and front and rear carpet mats.

A number of packages are also available, including the Easy Pack (automatic parking brake and tire pressure monitoring system) that costs 500 euros for the Privilege and Communication (Carminat Bluetooth DVD, Carminat TomTom navigation, MP3 playback and other multimedia features) sold for 1,200 euros.
