The Renault Clio IV has received the 2012 ‘Golden Steering Wheel’ award, which has been presented to Stefan Mueller, Executive Vice President, Chairman of Europe Region, during special ceremony that was held in Berlin, Germany, yesterday evening.
The New Clio received the best “Small Car” title from Axel Springer Group’s weekly BILD am SONNTAG, Germany’s best-selling Sunday publication, and AutoBILD, the world’s best-selling car magazine. The overall number of readers sits at 73 million and they were asked to vote for their favorite car.

Renault is no stranger to the award, as the company’s display now holds 10, being one of the award’s most successful carmakers. The previous models that received the award are the Fuego Coupe (in 1980), the compact Renault 9 (1981), the Renault 25 (1984), Clio (1990), the second-, third- and fourth-generation Espace (1991, 1997 and 2002), the Renault 19 (1992), the Scenic MPV (2009) and, now, New Clio (2012).
