New Pricing Announced for the 2009 Audi A6/S6 U.S. Models

The pricing for the 2009 models of the Audi A6 sedan, A6 Avant and S6 sedan, that are going to arrive in the U.S. in January, has just been announced. The Audi A6 3.2 sedan Premium will start at $45,100, the Audi 3.0T quattro sedan Premium will start at $50,100. and the Audi A6 3.0T quattro Avant Premium will start at $53,310. Also, the Audi A6 4.2 quattro sedan will start at $60,950, and the Audi S6 will start at $75,900. Pretty pricey, but keep in mind that you will be driving top of the range German engineering.

Executive vice president of Audi America Johan de Nysschen said, ”The A6 model range gains a far more progressive look with this makeover. Of particular note is the addition of the new supercharged drivetrain that will give drivers plenty of responsive power without sacrificing fuel efficiency. These updates will show why the Audi A6 is the best-selling luxury sedan worldwide.”

The 2009 model of the Audi A6 3.0T quattro is reported to have the best fuel economy of any mid-sized luxury sedan sold in the U.S. The model features all wheel drive and is capable to achieve 26 mpg on highway and 18 mpg in city conditions, while recording a combined EPA fuel economy of 21 mpg.

The new 2009 models also come with three equipment levels: Premium, Premium Plus and Prestige. The standard equipment for the new A6 will include sunroof, Bluetooth, Homelink and heated front seats (on quattro models).

When it comes to power, Audi really shows what it's capable of. The 2009 3.0 TFSI V6 engine will come with direct fuel injection and a compressor supercharger and it will deliver 300 horsepower and 310 lb.-ft of torque, scoring under 5.9 seconds on the 0-60 mph sprint.

The most powerful engine available will be the one from the S6, namely the 5.2 FSI V10 engine mated to the Audi Tiptronic automatic transmission. A deadly combination with the result of 435 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 398 lb.-ft of torque.
