New Presidential Limo Delivered to Secret Service

As we have already told you in a previous report a few months ago, president-elect Barrack Obama is going to have a new presidential limousine from General Motors.

Msnbc.com found out that the new presidential limo model created by GM has been delivered to the Secret Service, most probably to make the necessary modifications. However, they should hurry up because Obama is going to officially receive the 2009 Cadillac Presidential Limousine on January 20, the day of his inauguration as president of USA at Washington.

The limo is equipped with a 10-disk CD player and hand-stitched leather as well as with 5-inch thick armor, bullet-proof glass and a sealed interior to protect him from possible chemical attacks.

Few details are known about the custom vehicle's specifications, but the Secret Service and GM will unveil these mysteries next week, so you should come back to Autoevolution to learn more about the limo of the first African-American president of the US.

You probably remember we told you the new model was going to replace the Cadillac limo former president George Bush has been using since 2005, but the last news is that the older-model presidential limos will remain in use. One thing is sure, Obama won't lack limousines as long as he lives at the White House!

And since we're speaking about  the US president's cars, one of Obama's former cars, a 2005 Chrysler 300 Series C that faithfully served him until he decided to change it with a greener vehicle, was available for sale on Ebay. So far, we don't know whether there were any buyers ready to pay the high price the current owner was asking but if we find out, be sure you'll be the first to know!
