New Porsche 911 Turbo Spotted in Monaco, Coupe and Cabriolet Ready For Debut

Now that the Frankfurt Motor Show has completed the 992 Porsche 911 Carrera puzzle (the "4" AWD versions of the standard Carrera and Carrera Cabriolet have landed), the path is open for uber-spicy Neunelfer derivatives. And the 992 Turbo is just around the corner, with both the Coupe and Cabriolet expected to land by the end of the year.

Given the said time frame, it shouldn't come as a surprise that 2021 Porsche 911 Turbo prototypes featurig both roof solutions have recently been spotted in the wild, as you'll be able to notice in the social media post at the bottom of the page.

Use the scroll feature of the Instagrap post and you'll get to see the 992 Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe and Cabriolet grabbing a quick lunch at what appears to be a gas station serving Monaco (one of the few).

Despite the 992 Carrera being wider than the car it replaces, the Turbo will bring the widebody approach to the next level, with the posterior of newcomer possibly being as gifted as that of the 991.2 GT2 RS.

As for the oval exahust tips visible on these test cars, these could be offered together with the Turbo-specific, trapezoidal tips we've seen on other testers (for instance, these are the Sport Exhaust tips on the Carrera models).

And if that traditionally discreet active rear wing is not enough for you, keep in mind that a Turbo Aerokit is expected to follow the Carrera Aerokit we met earlier this year.

On the tech front, we should see Zuffenhausen retiring the 3.8-liter flat-six of the outgoing car, with this expected to make room for an all-new twin-turbo flat-six that can cope with the ever-stricter emission standards.

And, if let out imagination run wild, we can see the Turbo S badge morphing into the Turbo S E-Hybrid, as it has happened with the Panamera and the Cayenne.

Nevertheless, this move might be reserved for the ".2" mid-cycle refresh of the 992, which is still three to four years away.
