New Porsche 911 Targa (Carrera) Spotted at Stuttgart Gas Station

OK, we admit that title is a bit of a mouthful, but then again, so is the Porsche lineup of cars. This German automaker has gone from making one sportscar to everything from SUVs to luxury limos, all in a variety of flavors.

But even to this day, every time you mention Porsche, people will think of the 911, and there is no version of the car that’s more charismatic than this one, the Targa. Our Porsche spotting friend from Germany, DrGumoLunatic, recently caught up to this test car at an Aral gas station near Stuttgart.

The car has been camouflaged to look like the 911 Cabriolet, but obviously isn’t. It’s the new Targa, a blast from the past, with a fish tank rear windshield and a large roof bar behind the driver, just like the old Targa models had.

The test vehicle appears to be the most basic model you can buy, the Carrera, judging from the shape of the exhaust. This places it at a very respectable 350 PS from a 3.4-liter flat-six engine.

The Taga has been testing for so long that we wouldn’t be surprised to see it making its official debut within the next few months.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
