New Pagani C9 Zonda Succesor Details Revealed

The Pagani Zonda came out of nowhere in 1999. It saw what other supercar makers had to offer. It contested the game with a beefy Mercedes engine, an interior looking like a fashion designer’s wildest dream and a sound which sent lions crying to their lioness mothers. Let’s not forget exclusivity.

But now, it is time for the Zonda to leave the reign in favor of a new generation of Pagani hypercars. The C9 is the name of the monster which is being crafted by the company as we speak.

In an interview for Argentina Auto Blog, Horacio Pagani, the man that started it all, confirmed that the C9 is coming this year. It will be (over)powered by a 6.0 liter V12 Mercedes AMG engine with 700 HP and 1,000 Nm of torque.

The C9 will be a completely new animal, as Horacio Pagani told Argentina Auto Blog. It will have a carbon-titanium chassis and unique Pirelli tires. Unlike the last “civilian” incarnation of the Zonda, the “F” , it will be built to meet U.S. safety and emissions standards.

Even though the simple reading of the above information can burn your brain, it’s nothing when we compared it to the C9’s expected price. Buyers will have to pay around 900,000 euro ($ 1,265,000) for it. The taxes are not included.

Remember the bloke who missed the 5 units limited production of the Zonda Cinque (a hybrid between the roadgoing Zonda F and the Zonda R racer) and then commissioned Pagani to build the 650 HP Zonda PS, a unique car just for him? According to Horacio Pagani, one-off orders like that will still be accepted after the Zonda production ends this year.
