New Opel Astra Offered with FlexFix Bike Carrier

We already understood that the future Opel Astra is going to be a real state-of-the-art model - at least this is what Opel says - but the German manufacturer continues to praise the upcoming model every once in a while. Today, Opel does it again and announces that the next Astra will be available with the integrated FlexFix carrier system that allows you to easily carry your bicicle wherever you would go.

The most attractive fact, especially if you're going to make use of this transport solution, is that it does not require installation or removal as it just
pulls out of the rear bumper. "Like a drawer", as Opel explains.

"Imagine all the situations in which FlexFix might come in handy – and not only for those who love to cycle during their free time. FlexFix is ideal for commuters who might want to park their Astra outside of town and ride their bicycle to work. Families appreciate the flexibility it offers, too. If the kids rode their bikes to school in the morning but it’s raining when school is out, parents can be pick them up on their way home from work without stopping first at home to grab a bike rack," Opel said in a press release.

The FlexFix carrier can be pulled out by using the lever situated near the lip of the trunk. After removing the bicycle, it can be easily pushed back to get inside the rear bumper. It can carry up to two bicycles with wheel sizes from 18 to 28 inches, with the maximum weight capacity going as high as 40 kilos.
