New Nordic Region Director at Saab Automobile

While revealing that former Bertone and Pinifarina designer Jason Castriota has been named its new Design Director, Saab Automobile also announced it has appointed Magnus Hansson as Regional Nordic Director. Hansson, who will take over the position effective August 1, will be responsible for sales, marketing, aftersales and business development in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland.

Specifically, Hansson will be directly responsible for the Swedish market, while Country Directors at Saab’s branch offices in Denmark, Norway and Finland will also report directly to him.

The 35 year old manager will report to Adrian Hallmark, Executive Director, Sales. He is currently Global Product Manager at Saab, and has been working for 10 years within the company. He is a former Country Manager in Canada, where Saab achieved record sales during his tenure. Hansson’s position as a Global Product Manager will be filled in by Christopher McKinnon.

“Our home market in Sweden is a crucial component in the success of the company and we are delighted to have Magnus onboard. His new role will enable us to create and benefit from synergies with the other Nordic markets. Their offices have been set up as lean, independent operations and Magnus’s team will also provide dedicated marketing and business support,” Saab Automobile CEO Jan Åke Jonsson said in a release.

As said, the reborn Swedish brand is working on strengthening its management team in key positions, and Castriota is expected to take the brand forward. The executive has already taken over the position and will report directly to Saab Automobile CEO Jan Ake Jonsson.
