We're talking about the Europe-bound Navara pickup truck here after Nissan officially announced the industrious vehicle will be introduced next month during IAA 2015.
That's not the only thing Nissan had to say because the press release mentions that besides being tough and practical, the new NP300 Navara will also feature "talents from Nissan's innovative crossover ranges".

In addition, Japanese officials claim "striking design, refinement, innovative technologies and car-like efficiency mean the NP300 Navara will set a new benchmark in the one-ton pick-up market."

Recently, Navara's name showed up a couple of times at the same time rumors about a Mercedes-Benz pickup being prepared by the Germans.

Also, as Renault confirmed their first-ever pickup truck last year, guess what platform will this model use? Exactly, the same one underpinning Mercedes-Benz's ute and of course, the NP300 Navara we started talking about.

We should also mention that the new Navara will reach European customers, as will its Mercedes-Benz cousin. The latter will also be sold in markets like Australia, South Africa, and Latin America, but no word on the pickup's availability on the US market.

As for the Renault pickup, it will be built in Thailand and will most likely be sold in the Asia-Pacific region.

Coming back to the new Navara, we could see the model being gifted the same engine choices it offers in Asia. If this happens, clients will be able to fit their new pickup with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder diesel engine available in two power variants.

The first one brings to the table no less than 161 horsepower and 403 Nm (297 lb-ft) of torque, while the second one delivers 188 horsepower and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque.

Still, it's too early to tell and until Nissan tells us more about the Navara's specs, let's be patient and wait the car's debut to bring more information.
