BMW has a partnership with Mission Impossible and its creators to promote one another. We knew that ever since we saw crashed M3s on the set of the Hollywood movie last year.
The Germans used Tom Cruise’s franchise to show off every single new product they could find. That includes the new xDrive40e plug-in hybrid X5, facelifted BMW 3 Series and the new M3. All of them received one spot at a time.
In the original trailer for Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, we even saw some superbikes from BMW show up, admittedly not every time in the most flattering way since some villains were purportedly using them.
This time, we’re looking at a short commercial that is supposed to get you to drive more. Dubbed Mission to Drive it features some dynamic shots of high intensity, all of which focused on BMW products.
This wouldn’t even be the first time the two entities collaborated either. Back in the last movie, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Tom Cruise’s character, Ethan Hunt could be seen driving the precursor to the i8, the BMW VISION Concept, a beautiful car that eventually went into production without too many changes to its shapes and size.
I don’t know about you guys, but I can’t wait to see the new movie and all the action scenes, no matter what cars are involved. As a matter of fact, I think I’d prefer it if those action shots didn’t involve BMWs. They just get destroyed so bad! In the meantime, until the film actually comes out on July 31st, let’s see what Bimmers we can expect to watch on the big screen.
