British automaker MG Motor has released preliminary specs and details about its upcoming MG3 supermini. Scheduled to go into production in a “few months”, the Euro-spec MG3 will hit the market as a “distinctive statement of modern British style” for “young and style conscious buyers”.
So what’s MG planning to offer in order to mesmerize its target audience? Well, besides the sporty styling that goes all the way back to MG’s heyday, the new MG3 will be highly customizable and certain versions will feature an aggressive body kit with unique bumpers, spoilers and LED “hockey stick” daytime running lights.
Inside, the British supermini will offer, among other features, a six-speaker audio, Bluetooth with audio streaming, DAB radio, USB/Aux input, automatic lights, automatic wipers, rear parking sensors, “ZERO” design fabric seats and part-leather trim. Going under the hood, the MG3 will sport a four-cylinder VTi-TECH gasoline engine with 105 HP (77 kW) that sends power to the wheels via a five-speed manual transmission.
“This is a car that that MG enthusiasts and dealers across Europe have been waiting for, but more significantly it will bring a whole new group of customers to the MG brand for the first time,” said Guy Jones, MG Motor UK sales & marketing director.
