The MG brand might be well known, but this company owned by Chinese automaker SAIC is essentially brand new. They’ve already introduced the MG6 in two configurations are now waiting for the right moment to launch the MG3.
The new MG3 was showcased at the 2010 Beijing Auto Show in the form of the MG Zero concept car, and soon after that it entered production (in China) as a five-door hatchback with 2.5 meter wheelbase.

This is a car that we’re actually waiting for based on a number of reasons: the development was done in the UK, it’s going to be available with a 165 hp 1.5-liter turbo engine, features MacPherson strut front suspension.

The MG3 is going to be launched next year and will target the European supermini market from its factory in Longbridge, Birmingham. Of course, 3-door versions are very popular in this segment due to the simplicity, and we though you’d be interested to see what the new MG3 would look like as a 3-door. This really could help MG become the new Kia in Europe.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
