Metzeler announces their new Roadtec Z8 tires, now in their O and M versions. According to the manufacturer, these tires can deliver up to 30% more mileage, while keeping the grip figures in the same area as the previous version C.
Engineered for touring purposes and for machinery such as he BMW K1600 range, Triumph Trophy or Honda VFR1200, the new Roadtec Z8 rubber brings a hybrid compound, with different composition on the shoulders and the middle section.
The central section of the tread contains 70% silica and was designed to offer high-speed stability and higher mileage. The shoulders come with a 100% silica compound which should increase the chemical grip in the wet and reduces sliding under most conditions.
According to Metzeler, the new Roadtec Z8 Interact tires offer the best wet performance in the Sport Touring segment and also come with a patented profile which reduces the steering effort.
Metzeler also adds that the new tires should start rolling by the end of the next month. A little late for serious sport-touring in the northern half of the Earth, I might say, but there's summer coming up in the other hemisphere, isn't it?
