It’s been almost a month since we wrote about a Mercedes-Benz C-Class prototype being spotted in Lower Saxony, and the company’s next BMW 3 Series competitor was caught testing again. Now with less camouflage on its body, the next-generation C-Class was spotted in Boblingen, near Stuttgart.
Codenamed W205, the new C-Class will reportedly make its official debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show in January. Besides the familiar sedan, wagon and coupe versions, the C-Class range will also include, for the first time, a convertible model.
Little is known about engine options at the time of writing, but rumors suggest there will be at least five models (not including the AMG), with power ranging from 154 HP (1.6-liter) to 333 HP (3.0-liter twin-turbo V6). The C63 AMG will deliver 462 HP form the company’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 mill.
