New Mercedes A-Class Tuning by Vath: A250 Gets 245 HP

The Mercedes Benz A-Class is now in its third generation, and we think it's 2.5 to 2.7 times better than the old one. Usually, we don't like it when cars grow, but even though it went from a B- to a C-segment car, it never pigged out.

One thing this Heidi Klum of automobiles doesn't have is enough power. Mercedes rightfully wanted it to be economical, but even the most powerful standard engine, the 2-liter turbo of the A250, falls short of most hot hatches.
Another German company, this time a tuner, found the perfect solution for this problem. It's called the V25, and it brings the power of the aforementioned engine to more acceptable levels.

Through the use of a sports exhaust and some fettering with the electronics, the A250 now makes 245 PS (242bhp) and 390Nm (288 lb-ft). The same mods should easily apply to the CLA 250, which is definitely good news.

Vath has also prepared subtle cosmetic changes for the hatch, including a sports suspension setup with 30 mm lower springs, 19-inch wheels with 235/35ZR19 and 255/30ZR19 tires and a carbon fiber front spoiler for your car if you've already opted for the sport package.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
