Mazda has been teasing us with the new 6 for a couple of weeks now, and although they’ve managed to impress us so far, we already know what the car will actually look like. That’s partly because we’ve seen spyshots of it and because it’s based on the Takeri Concept, but also because of the guys with Photoshop.
Yes, the Mazda6 has been rendered into reality by the guys at PS-Garage, who have been kind enough to share their vision with us. The car in question is the 2014 Mazda6 Station Wagon, a mid-sized rival to the next Ford Fusion wagon and the Opel Insignia.
In the US, the Mazda6 Wagon will arrive as a 2014 model year, meaning it will follow the sedan in about a year or more. However, recent reports suggest that it will be revealed ahead of the sedan at the Moscow Show next month.
Mazda has pledged to spot using V6 engines, so under the bonnet will be 4-cylinder Skyactiv units that will make use of regenerative braking and other fuel-saving measures.
What’s interesting about this rendering is how much the Mazda6 looks like the CX-5 crossover at the front. Instead of a pointy nose, this now is a bit more slab-fronted yet somehow also better looking.
