Ask any Mazda fan what's better than a Mazda3 and he'll reply in an instant with a rather obvious answer: Mazda3 MPS.
There's a reason for joy among Mazda aficionados and petrolheads alike, as the Japanese car manufacturer will revive the MPS moniker at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

According to Motoring, the Mazda3 MPS will be previewed by a prototype that will shortly after give birth to a production model. Sure, we all want to know how much horsepower would the new Mazda3 MPS pack, so let the speculation begin.

The same source says Mazda3 MPS is likely to receive a 2.5-liter turbocharged unit good for 220 kW (300 HP). Earlier rumors claimed Mazda's upcoming hot-shot will feature an all-wheel drive system, but that's far for being confirmed in official terms.

Until that information starts taking over your mind, you'll also want to hear this out, especially those with a family-oriented care right now. Mazda CX-7 will be back in business, with a little help from its smaller brother, the CX-5. The latter's underpinnings will be modified to sustain a 5+2 seating arrangement, in perfect compliance with the latest trend.

Furthermore, Mazda will bring the next CX-9 on the automotive stage - most likely in Los Angeles in November - and clients will benefit from the same 2.5-liter turbocharged banger expected to animate the upcoming Mazda3 MPS.

Take it as you wish, with a pinch of salt or for granted, but it looks like Mazda is preparing some action this year, but hey, we can only be happy about that. You know, for diversity and all that, not to mention, you know...MPS.
