Next to the world debut of the new M Performance parts for the X3 and X4 models, the BMW M3 and M4 will also be introduced with a couple of surprises up their sleeves.
In the case of the M3 and M4 we’ve already seen a couple of the M Performance offerings already, but BMW is now completing the lineup with some new parts.

On the aerodynamic front you can now get new side sections for the front bumper, a front attachment made from polyurethane, a carbon rear diffuser and a carbon rear spoiler. Even though it doesn’t add up or help the drag coefficient in any way, there are also new tri-color side decals available with the M Performance lettering on them for all models.

Inside, the biggest change is the addition of an M Performance steering wheel with race display, similar to the one we had on our M235i tester. Done in Alcantara and carbon trim, it should be really comfortable for avid racers.

There are also new silencers available for the M3 and M4 that are supposed to change the sound of the cars. The M performance silencer system uses optimised exhaust gas channelling to create a new sound. Of course, the tailpipes also look different in this configuration, being made either of stainless steel or titanium if you wish.

If you go for the latter, you get a rust-free system that also saves around 8 kg of weight. You’ll also be able to change its sound depending on the driving mode you’re in. In Sport+ mode the results should be more than satisfying. Prices for the new parts haven't been released yet, but they should be made official once the cars come out in Essen later this month.
