It's only been a day since Lexus revealed the first photos of the new RC Coupe, making its world debut at this year's Tokyo Motor Show in a few days. And already, Theo Chin has posted renderings of a convertible version, thanks to the magic of Photoshop.
The RC is based on the IS sedan and already people are describing it as a rival to the BMW 4 Series. Should it have a drop-top version, just like the 4er will get next year?
Our say is an overwhelming "yes". Lexus used to have a sexy looking but not very exciting small convertible called the SC, which also had a folding metal roof, like BMW uses.
If you rally think about it, the sweet sounding 3.5-liter V6 and the silent 300h hybrid system both blend well to a convertible. Better than a VW Beetle with a diesel engine or some such nonsense.
So is it time for Lexus to have a convertible again? And if so, should it have a metal roof or a fabric one? It's an important niche for any automaker, so we want to hear from you on the subject.
