It seems that everybody these days wants to be like the German trifecta (BMW, Mercedes and Audi) since Porsche, Jaguar and Maserati all want to become global luxury brands with huge sales figures. If this will work out or not is yet to be seen, but thanks to German publication AutoBild, we can offer you a bit of insight into the upcoming Maserati lineup.
The first model on Fiat Group CEO Sergio Marchionne’s agenda is the next generation of Qattroporte sedan. The current model is quite possibly the most under-appreciated Italian car right now, and they hope to change all that.

We still don’t know what they are cooking under the bonnet, but the Quattroporte will become much bigger and wider to play the luxury card like it’s supposed to. This will result in extra legroom and a cavernous boot. Sounds like something the BMW 7-Series fans will like.

The next generation of the Quattroporte will also be 100 kg (220 lbs) lighter and 30 percent more efficient, according to the aforementioned source. This smells a bit like turbocharging or cylinder deactivation. Let’s hope it’s the former!

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
