If you thought that the Lamborghini Veneno’s magic is still strong and holds a firm grasp on the title of the most outrageous creation ever to come out from Sant’Agata Bolognese, you might have to reconsider soon. According to new reports, the Italian brand will be unveiling a new hypercar at this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
Of course, as it is usually the case with such creations, the unveiling won’t be public. It will all take place behind closed doors, where only a couple of wealthy individuals will have access. Even so, there are some interesting rumors coming out regarding this new ... creation.
First of all, it will follow in the footsteps of its predecessors. The list includes names like the Reventon and Veneno, to name the most recent two. They were built in extremely limited numbers and both had roadster alternatives available.
That’s probably going to be the case with this new project even though specifics aren’t available yet. The best guess is that there will be around 30 cars built in total, the split depending on the Lamborghini management alone.
The price tag will be pretty steep too, but that’s hardly a surprise. Since the Reventon asked for $1.5 million back in the day and the Veneno was sold for up to $4.5 million (and even more in some cases) don’t expect this to be cheaper. We wouldn’t be amazed to see even a $3 million sticker from the get go.
As for the engine, no info is available at the moment but according to MotorTrend we could see an 800 HP mill at work on this new hypercar, making it the most powerful machine ever to sport the the raging bull badge.
Of course, after the private unveiling takes place it will be time to take a look at it in the metal and the first chance for Lamborghini to present it in front of a live crowd will come at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show in September.
