The North American divison of Kymco has expanded its line-up with another SxS machine, the UXV 700i SP. Since 2015 marks half a century of manufacturing for Kymco, it is natural to see the top-drawer vehicles in each segment proudly displaying interesting liveries… and the UXV 700i SP is no exception.
This side-by-side is offered in a black livery with red aluminium alloy lightweight wheels, matching accents on the washable seat covers and a very racey red paint on the suspension springs. Being a special edition beast, the Kymco UXV 700i SP is delivered fully loaded with a lot of other accessories which are usually offered for quite a hefty premium.
You get a half-windscreen, a hard top, a light bar equipped with Kymco-designed LED projectors, a rear cab net and a rear cargo net, a spare rim loaded with the same 26” Kenda Bounty Hunter tires, dual beverage holders and a protective rear bumper. Fully-adjustable independent double A-arm KAIFA suspensions are also offered as standard trim for the UXV 700i SP, while multiple other accessories available optionally.
The UXV 700i SP is powered by an all-new Kymco 4-stroke 4-valve liquid-cooled engine with EFI, packing a 695cc displacement. Kymco says the engine can produce 45 hp which might be enough with the proper gearing. The transmission is CVT automatic, with dual range and neutral-reversed-parked operation, and on-demand 2WD/4WD shaft drive, with an added manual parking brake.
A 2”hitch receiver is also offered as standard, with an 1200 lbs (543 kg) towing capacity, while the tilting bed can accommodate 420 lbs (190 kg). A 12V accessory outlet is also stock, with a prewired winch mounting plate, locking glove box and underhood storage. This 1310-lb machine (593 kg) comes with a MSRP of $11,599 (€8,570).
