New Kia Picanto Interior Revealed

Kia has just announced that the new-generation Picanto, which will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March, will be offered with a range of four engines, each of them specifically configured for low emissions and enhanced economy.

Specifically, the future A-segment hatchback will be available with three versions of the 1.0-liter three-cylinder Kappa engine (gasoline, flex fuel and bi-fuel), as well as with a 1.2-liter four-cylinder gasoline Kappa configuration. Of course, the offering will depend on the market, as Europeans will also receive the ISG system that's able, according to Kia, to cut emissions to between 90 and 100 g/km.

The aforementioned engines will offer a power output from 69 to 85 horsepower, while the torque will start from 94 Nm to 121 Nm. Emissions in the new Picanto series will go in between 95 and 105 g/km, while fuel consumption will range from 4.2 to 5.9 l/100km (56 to 39.8 mpg).

All engines will be available with either a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic configuration, depending on the market.

Other feature highlights on the upcoming Picanto include LED daytime running lights, button-start with smart key, grip-type outside door handles and six or seven airbags, once again depending on the market it will be sold on.

As said, the new-generation Picanto will be on display within Kia's stand at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, while sales are expected to commence later this year. Pricing will be disclosed at a later date.
