The second generation Hyundai i10 was revealed in August and went into production at the end of last month in Turkey. In anticipation of the right-hand drive model's launch in Britain, pricing and initial details were released today.
The new i10 will be available in Britain from January 30th, 2014, with prices starting at £8,345. The car will be available with two petrol engines, the 1.0-litre, three-cylinder powertrain has an output of 66PS and 94 Nm. There's also a 1.2-litre with 87PS and 120 Nm, which they say will make up 40% of sales.

As usual, the really important data concerns the trim levels, not the engines. The basis i10 S will have only the 1-liter. Standard kit will include cloth interior trim in black with beige inserts, 14 inch steel wheels, central locking, electric front windows, CD tuner + USB, Daytime Running Lights, ISOfix and tilt adjust steering wheel as standard.

If you want air condition, the S Air has standard kit plus that for £8,995, which is £650 more.

Better value is found in the mid-grade i10 SE, priced from at £9,295. This has remote central locking, electric rear windows, electric heated door mirrors, body colour door handles and mirrors, driver’s seat height adjustment and black B pillar.

The top model is the i10 Premium is the top-spec car, costing from £9,995 OTR. It gets 14 inch alloys, Bluetooth connectivity with voice recognition, steering wheel controls, LED daytime running lights, front fog lamps, rear speakers, drivers safety window, door mirror indicators, Emergency Stop Signal.

Hyundai's European design team led by Thomas Burkle was responsible for one of the most appealing designs in the A-segment. There really isn't a single retro or old line on this car. It's also longer and wider than the old i10. The top-spec i10 is definitely worth considering when it goes on sale next year.
