It seems that automotive producers are still having difficulties understanding that being eco doesn’t have to rule out the possibility of also pleasing those who want performance cars. However, we now have a new case of a car company that has figured that out: Honda.
The Frankfurt Auto Show gave us the new Civic, with the public being excited about it, but many didn’t know that Honda was planning not build a Type R version. Fortunately, it seems that the company has changed its mind about this, with Honda chief engineer Mitsuru Kariya confirming to Autocar that such a vehicle is now in the works.
However, things still haven’t returned back to normal 100 percent, as, probably due to the fact that this could affect its desired eco image, Honda might not use the “Type R” moniker.
