The introduction of the all-new GMC Hummer EV a little over two months ago generated a lot of press coverage, and that's because it looked like the carmaker got a lot of things right about the electric pickup truck.
Time passed, other cars launched, and you can almost feel the enthusiasm around GMC's model waning away. Not much that influences the Hummer directly has changed, but the simple fact it disappeared from the media's attention means it fell down in the pecking order for the general public as well.

It's hard to imagine that would still happen once the EV is actually on the road. A big truck with the performance GMC announced for the Hummer can't go unnoticed or be easily forgotten. In fact, at least 10,000 people have already allegedly expressed their desire to purchase the truck, despite the $112,595 price tag the first available version will command.

Still, acting like a cautious company that doesn't like to take chances, GM decided to release a little clip just before we pull that last page out of the 2020 calendar. It's a 90-second-long video that will reignite the interest in the Hummer EV, and the remarkable thing here is the electric truck doesn't need to do anything particularly spectacular to achieve that: just be itself.

Everyone involved in the project deserves a pat on the back from Mary Barra, the CEO of General Motors, as they've come up with a genuinely impressive product. Yes, it's expensive, and yes, the battery pack/range ratio (or efficiency, as some people call it) isn't great, but it's an exciting vehicle, and there aren't that many of those out there if we're honest.

The clip goes from showing various details of the truck - both interior and exterior - to featuring moving shots through urban scenery as well as the muddy trails the Hummer EV won't probably see a lot of if we're realistic. Hell, you even get to see it driving on the moon, albeit through the graphics on its central display. Though that's obviously CGI - just like the rest of this entire video, for that matter - the Hummer EV, thanks to those two last letters in its name, would actually be able to drive there. Plus, it weighs like ten tons, so the low gravity wouldn't be an issue either.
