New Generation Honda Accord Coupe Launched in Detroit

To say that the Accord is important for Honda is an understatement, since the mid-size model’s reputation is among the lest tarnished. To date, they’ve sold 11 millions Accords in the US, 8 million of which were built locally. And even though they call it a concept, John Mendel still admits Detroit basically marks the launch of the ninth generation Accord.
The 2013 Accord Coupe Concept plays a game of inches. It’s a bit shorter and less tall, but it retains its interior dimensions. This is to be expected of a car that’s well liked.

The coupe is the first application of both gasoline direct injection and some new CVT technology that makes the car more efficient and frugal. Also, the sedan will have a plug-in version with 10 to 15 miles of electric-only driving.
