New Formula Renault 3.5 Race Car Revealed at Silverstone

What better place to unveil the Formula Renault 3.5 than at the Silverstone circuit which hosted the first ever Formula One Grand Prix event. At the unveiling drivers and staff were presented with the Renault Sport Technologies’ brand new single-seater. The new V8 engine that puts out 530 bhp (about 529hp) amazed the audience stretching its legs in a show off by Romain Grosjean.

Also, it is worth mentioning the fact that the new Formula Renault 3.5 will make its debut next season in the World Series by Renault. The new Formula Renault 3.5 has received more power than the previous version and it also features technical improvements which will take the new race car to another level. As a matter of fact the new race car resembles more with Formula One car, turning it into an ideal car in which to train drivers for the challenges of an F1 competition.

The new improved race car was fitted with a Dallara chassis which is an evolution of the actual engineering work. The new chassis comes with an new front and rear wings and improved cockpit design. About 70 per cent of the new Formula Renault 3.5’s parts are brand new. The engineering team has added the Drag Reduction System (DRS).Also the absence of a battery and starter are a novelty will will reduce its weight gaining better acceleration at the same time.

Furthermore Zytek Engineering’s developed V8 530 bhp(about 529hp) engine, features a new gearbox with a pneumatic clutch control and a state-of-the-art electronic system. The new race car is 50 bhp (about 50 hp) more powerful and 15 kg lighter than the current model.
