The Ranger XLS has been released to expand the 4x4 pickup utility vehicle range from Ford Australia. It is based on the 4x4 XL Double Cab platform, and it is powered by a 3.2-liter five-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that boasts 147 kW (197 hp) and 470 Nm (346 lb-ft). Power is delivered to the wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.
Standard options include cruise control, power windows and mirrors, remote central locking, inner and outer tie-down hooks, steering wheel-mounted audio an cruise control buttons, 3.5-inch multi-function display and four-way adjustable driver’s seat. Other features are represented by the addition of front fog lights, body-colored mirror housings, a locking rear differential, silver radiator grille and carpeted floor coverings.
The new XLS scored five stars at the ANCAP tests, safety being provided by driver and front-passenger airbags, side and curtain airbags, dynamic stability control emergency brake assist, trailer sway control and other systems.
