Looking back, we must admit that the first generation of Ford’s Ka model has had a good run and managed to deliver what it has promised for a busy city life. Therefore, the company has decided to launch a brand new Ka minicar in Europe that has more of those genes and fewer Fiat 500 ones.
Yes, you’ll be having a new and improved Ford Ka in the near future, most likely in 2015. An official statement from Ford made at the "Go Further" event in Barcelona today says to expect this city car in "European showrooms in a couple of years". At the same event, the company also showed the 2015 Mustang and 2013 Edge Concept which are both coming to Europe for the first time.

The improved mini car is based on the Ka Concept that was revealed in Brazil last month and is supposed to replace the older version based on the Fiat 500, therefore ending the two companies' partnership.

One should know that this soon to be available Ka is a five-door model and a smaller and less expensive car than a Fiesta. With it, the company hopes to give its models a premium-like appearance as well as improve their Ka sales.

So, this means that this vehicle has some new and interesting additions. Besides having five doors, the car comes with a technology that is usually incorporated in larger cars such as voice control that can be found in Ford’s SYNC and AppLink that offers the possibility to activate apps, play music and so much more. Moreover, they also get to store, mount and charge their mobile devices, something common for the MyFord Dock.

These new features will surely make the Ka model an interesting city car and definitely improve the driving experience. Prototypes of the 3rd generation Ford Ka have been testing since this summer, coming out of Ford's test center in Cologne. However, the Ka will also be sold in most of Asia and will replace the Indian Figo, one of the best selling models in that country.
