Ford will use the upcoming 2010 Geneva Auto Show to present the new Focus Station Wagon that will go on sale in Europe in the months to come. Carscoop writes that the car might be globally launched in the near future in case it attracts positive feedback after the European debut at Geneva.
There are no details on the Focus Station Wagon for the time being, but the car is likely to rely on the same engine lineup as the regular Focus, obviously while providing more interior space and a larger trunk.
The existing Ford Focus Wagon is offered with a wide array of engines, three diesels and four petrols. The top-of-the-range configuration is the 2.0-liter 16V that develops 145 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 185 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm, while releasing 169 grams of CO2 per kilometer.
In terms of performance, this particular engine helps the car sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.4 seconds, while reaching a maximum speed of 128 mph (206 km/h). Mated to a standard manual 5-speed transmission, it achieves a fuel consumption rating of 24 mpg (9.8 l/100km) city and 43.5 mpg (5.4 /100km) highway.
autoevolution will be attending the 2010 Geneva Auto Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
