New Ford Focus RS Reportedly Underway with 330 HP

It’s been nearly two years since rumors about a brand new Ford Focus RS powered by a 2.3-liter EcoBoost started surfacing the Internet, but actual info about the high-performance hatchback is still scarce.

Initial reports suggested the unit might pump 330 hp, but the amount was increased to 350 hp by the end of 2012. Today, a new report coming from Auto Motor & Sport Sweden rekindles the 2.3-liter EcoBoost-powered Focus RS fire.

The aforementioned source claims the new hot hatch will be motivated by the same four-cylinder fitted in the brand new 2015 Mustang, but with slightly more power at its disposal. The engine will be tweaked to deliver 330 hp, about 25 hp more than the EcoBoost pony.

Unfortunately, there’s no word on when the next Focus RS might arrive, but word has it we won’t get to see before the Paris Motor Show in October.
