New Ford Focus, Official CES 2011 CAR

The brand new Ford Focus is getting ready to mark its entrance into the new year by wearing a title many other Ford vehicles worn over the year: official car of the Consumer Electronics Show, which will take place in the beginning of January in Las Vegas.

The selection of the car was made because it is “tech-packed,” says Ford. Those technologies include Ford SYNC, MyFord Touch driver connect, Intelligent Access with Push Button Start, Sony Audio with HD Radio (the first car in its class available with a Sony system) and Active Park Assist.

“The all-new Focus harnesses the best of what Ford Motor Company has to offer, delivering class-leading features and technologies as well as an expected 40 mpg,” said Ken Czubay, Ford vice president for Marketing, Sales and Service.

“We’re excited for Focus to reach dealers in North America and Europe in early 2011 and want to share that excitement and the unprecedented level of technology Focus has to offer with the global consumer electronics industry – an increasingly important influence on new vehicles.”

The new Focus will be released next year and will be made available in SE and Titanium trim levels, available with handling packages. Comprising a series of technologies which range from specifically tuned electric power-assisted steering (EPAS) to independent Control Blade rear suspension and torque vectoring control, the packages are designed to make the model more controllable.

“We welcome Ford, Alan Mulally and the new Focus to the 2011 International CES,”
said Gary Shapiro, Consumer Electronics Association CEO. “Vehicles such as the Focus are built with the latest technologies that address consumer demand for on-the-go innovations.”
