Fiat has announced that they will distribute the new Strada small pickup across Italy starting next week. The model has proven a huge success in Brazil, where it’s built, but has never caught on in the old world.
Now though, this compact workhorse with regular car proportions and looks is getting refreshed. It will be sold in three trim configurations Working, Trekking and Adventure. In addition, the flexibility of the design also allows for three body styles, like you get on a full-size. There’s a short cab with room for two, a long cab that can fit a little more and a four-seater crew-cab.
The rugged little monster you’re looking at here is the Adventure Crew-Cab with beefy plastic bumpers and arches and raised suspension. It also comes with 205/65 R15 off-road nubby tires and E-Lock, an electronically locking differential.
The engine range includes a 1.3-liter Multijet 16v Euro5 diesel engine with 85 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque (147.5 lb-ft). What, you wanted more? No, that’s the only engine.
Prices start from €12,900 and go up to €16,000 for the Adventure Crew Cab. Still, there aren’t many cheaper vehicles for light farm work.
