While startup companies are getting rarer and rarer, as globalization gets an increasingly better footing, it is still very refreshing to see these new companies showing their stuff, as it is usually much better and more interesting than the soulless industrially-manufactured stuff we are usually fed.
Spiked Cycles is a new company from the Netherlands, and they specialize in the building of e-bikes, which customers can make their own, via an online configurator which also happens to be a lot of fun to use. It allows you to choose either of the two available electric motors, different fender designs and colors, two different frame designs, different transmissions (2 speed kick-shift or regular 5-speed).

Buyers can even customize the position of the saddle and handle bars, with the latter having the option of being tilted, to get the perfect riding position for one specific person. There are many other options available, which you can see for yourself by playing around with the configurator (which is only available in Dutch, but is very intuitive).

Their first offering is called the RAW 7005 Racer, and it is priced between €1,995 and €2,444, depending on which frame and what accessories are chosen.
